The Chippewa Township Volunteer Fire Department will host the Beaver County Firefighters Fullgear Knockdown Bowling Tournament at 2:30 p.m. today at Sims Bowling Lanes on Big Beaver Boulevard in Beaver Falls.

The charity event aims to raise money for local first responders who have suffered a personal loss. A news release from the fire department indicates that last year, the charity benefitted a Medevac paramedic who lost her life saving a child from a fire. This year's recipient has not yet been determined.

The seventh annual fundraiser involves teams of four bowlers who wear fire department bunker pants and jackets while bowling.
