Boy hit, killed by train in Beaver County

A 12-year-old boy was hit by a freight train and killed this evening as he was trying to cross the tracks in Beaver, according to Beaver County emergency dispatchers and the county coroner.
Beaver County Coroner Teri Tatalovich-Rossi identified the boy as Joshua Nicol, age 12. Joshua was hit by a CSX train at 6 p.m., a dispatcher said.
