The Aten Road Bridge in Findlay will close from 9 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

A township crew will narrow and shift both lanes by installing steel curbs and possibly repainting lines.

State inspectors required the work because two beams under the north side of the roadway cannot sufficiently handle the weight of traffic, public works director John O'Neal said.

The 32-year-old structure spans Industry Drive in RIDC Park West. The bridge carries an average of 850 vehicles each day, mostly residents traveling on Aten Road between the Westbury neighborhood and Cliff Mine Road.

Detour routes, from Aten Road in Westbury to Interstate 376 (the Parkway West), are either Garden Lane to McClaren Road to Interstate 376, or Pepper Drive to Industry Drive to Cliff Mine Road to Interstate 376.
