Guests at a hotel in West Mifflin were evacuated early this morning after a sprinkler head burst.

It is part of the safety procedure at the SpringHill Suites West Mifflin hotel on Regis Avenue to clear the hotel when the sprinkler system or fire alarm sounds, a hotel front desk clerk said.

KDKA-TV is reporting that officials at the scene said a line feeding the sprinkler system, somewhere on the third floor, broke around 3:40 a.m.

Police in West Mifflin said water collected in the lobby. The hotel clerk said the situation has been resolved.
