Washington County man killed in Independence crash

A Washington County man was pronounced dead Tuesday after his truck left the road and flipped, the Washington County coroner's office said today.

According to the coroner's office, Steven Mark Lusher, 42, of Avella, was driving southbound on Sugar Run Road in Independence when his Dodge truck went off the right side of the road, along an embankment and landed on its roof.

Mr. Lusher was ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at 9:07 a.m. from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the coroner's office.

A passing driver discovered the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police in the Washington barracks are investigating.
