U.S. Postal Service employee accused of stealing $5,700 in money orders, stamps and cash

A Postal Service employee is accused of misappropriation of postal funds and theft of mail, according to an indictment unsealed late Tuesday.
Facing the charges in U.S. District Court is Jennifer M. Soltis, 38, of Smock. According to the indictment, she took Postal Service money orders, stamps and cash worth $5,729, and also removed a $10 Wal-Mart gift card from an envelope that had been placed in the mail.
Ms. Soltis has been summoned to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Maureen P. Kelly on April 9.
