It appears the Steel Valley school board and teachers union have reached a contract agreement after both groups voted this week to approve a factfinder's report issued 10 days ago.

District Superintendent Ed Wehrer the two sides have agreed on details for a new three-year contract based on the report. The board will formally vote to accept the contract at its Sept. 25 meeting. Kevin Tomasic, president of the teachers union, could not be reached for comment.

No details of contract are being released until the Sept. 25 vote.

Mr. Wehrer said the contract will be retroactive to the 2011-12 school year.
