FOOD

Brentwood -- St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Brentwood will hold an Election Day dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 at 4048 Brownsville Road.

Peters -- The Peters Township Public Library cooking club is holding a contest to determine who makes the best chili in the township. To enter chili or to vote for the best, register by emailing programs@ptlibrary.org or call 724-941-9430 by Monday. The cook-off will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the library at 616 E. McMurray Road, with a $5 fee for tasters and free for chili candidates who bring their chili in a crock pot. The winner will receive a one-year free members hip to the Peters Township Public Library cooking club and a medal.

FUNDRAISERS

McKeesport -- Penn State Greater Allegheny will hold its ninth annual "All That's Jazz" fundraiser, featuring food, music an auction and appearances by former Pittsburgh Steelers, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Penn State Greater Allegheny Student Community Center, 4000 University Drive. Whitehall -- The Whitehall Green Thumbers Garden Club's annual fall luncheon, including a floral design program, basket raffles, door prizes and a 50/50 drawing, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the South Hills Country Club, 4305 Brownsville Road, to benefit Bidwell Training Horticultural Technology Programs. HOLIDAY EVENTS

Brentwood -- St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 4048 Brownsville Road, will hold a traditional Halloween party from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Pleasant Hills -- Pleasant Hills Lions Club will hold its annual Halloween parade at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will assemble at 6:30 p.m. in the Audrey Drive parking lot of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road. Costumed children and their parents are invited to march in the parade. Traffic closures and delays will occur during the parade, which will last until about 8 p.m.

South Park -- South Park Lions Club will sponsor its annual Halloween parade at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, starting at the David J. Henney Funeral Home parking lot, 6364 Library Road, continuing along Route 88 toward Finleyville, onto Brownsville Road and left onto Pleasant Street.

South Park -- The Southwestern Pennsylvania Registered Nurses Club will hold its 20th Veteran's Day Memorial Service at the South Park war memorials on Corrigan Drive at 11 a.m. on Nov. 12. All nurses who served in the memorial will be remembered with a floral wreath placed at the nursing monument. All are welcome.

Bethel Park -- CommuniTea, a monthly women's Bible study and fellowship gathering, for women of all ages, will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 2, and the first Friday of every month, at 2725 Bethel Church Road. Carrick -- Spencer United Methodist Church, 117 Spencer Ave., will hold a fall rummage sale of clothes, jewelry, toys, linens and housewares from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Clairton -- The annual Mon Valley craft and vendor fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3, offering crafts, food and refreshments for sale at the school, 555 Lewis Run Road. Admission fee: $2. All proceeds benefit student activities. Information: 412-469-2551.

West Mifflin -- Wilson Christian Academy's first annual Christmas Craft and Vendor show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 3 at 1900 Clairton Road. Proceeds will keep tuition down for families that attend the school.

Bethel Park -- Christ United Methodist Church, at 44 Highland Road, will hold its 2nd annual Ladies Night Out from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Nov. 9, featuring finger foods, vendor sales and sessions including cooking demonstrations, yoga, holiday crafts and photography.
