Pleasant Hills -- A six-week course in sign language open to adults and teens age 13 and older will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 18, at the public library, 302 Old Clairton Road. Bethel Park -- Bethel Park Lions Club will hold its annual fall fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Lions Park, 5757 Irishtown Road. Fish or shrimp dinners include coleslaw, french fries, macaroni and cheese, and water. Cost: $9. Takeout available. Hot dog dinner also available for children. Proceeds benefit Lions charities.
Peters -- West Penn Allegheny Health System will offer tai chi, a combination of exercise and meditation that can help people cope with arthritis pain, in an eight-week workshop that begins Sept. 10 at the Outpatient Care Center, 160 Gallery Drive. The workshop also will be offered in the Professional Building at Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side. Fee: $75 for one class per week, $130 for two classes per week. Upper St. Clair -- Narateen, an organization for young people affected by the drug or alcohol use of a family member or friend, meets from 7 to 8 p.m. every Monday at the Upper St. Clair recreation center, 1770 McLaughlin Run Road. Meetings are anonymous and open to anyone between the ages of 10 and 21 troubled by a loved one's drug or alcohol use. Bethel Park -- The Southwestern Registered Nurses Club will meet to hear Gurney Bolster speak about tai chi at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 18 at Hamilton Presbyterian Church, 4500 Baptist Road.
