ARTS

Mt. Lebanon -- The public library will hold a series of concerts starting at 7 p.m. Thursdays in the library's courtyard, 16 Castle Shannon Blvd. The PM Winds Project, a flute and clarinet duo, will perform July 26, preceded by a 6:30 p.m. discussion on musicians' education, life and work. Other performances are: Boilermaker Jazz Band Aug. 2; Nan Hoffman, an American folk musician, Aug. 9; Matt Otis, an indie/acoustic musician Aug. 16; and the Mt. Lebanon High School String Quartet Aug. 23.

West Mifflin -- Nonprofit TJ Arts will present Hot on the Arts, a cabaret-style performance, at 7 p.m. June 23 at Community College of Allegheny County South Campus Theatre, 1750 Clairton Road. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased at www.tj-arts.org, 412-655-0747 or at the door, as available. The event will raise money for West Jefferson Hills School District arts scholarships.

CHILDREN

Monongahela -- Local explorer, author and historian Lawrence Gallant will deliver a PowerPoint presentation on the Ancient Fortresses of the Ohio and Monongahela River Valleys at the monthly meeting of the Monongahela River Buffs Association at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Monongahela River Buffs Museum at 175 Second St. The public is welcome to attend this free event.
