A panel of judges at Canonsburg General Hospital has chosen winners in the hospital's 15th annual Giving Thanks Essay Contest. One winner was named from each elementary and intermediate school in Canon-McMillan, Peters Township and Chartiers-Houston school districts and St. Patrick's School in Canonsburg from among several hundred entries.
Fourth-grader Shea Pitts, one of the winners, wrote about missing her father, who is serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Other winners are: Patrick Tolan, Elana Tylka, Rik Bhattacharyya, Maggie Jeffries, Lauren Pasquinelli, Brady Crago, Rachel Skoczlas, Doran Wudkwych, Taylor Jack, Kent Peterson, Nicole House, Elias Lavrich and Erigan Shulsky.
