Connor Mullan, a member of Troop 1313 in McMurray, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America.
Connor, son of Dan and Carolyn Mullan of Peters, chose an Eagle project to provide safety for the faculty of St. Benedict the Abbot Church, in McMurray. The project included designing and building stairs on the hillside between the church and the rectory.
His project involved detailed design, surveying, excavation, forming and pouring concrete, construction, multiple township inspections and the management of the 440 man-hours labor needed to complete the project over a 12-week period.
Connor has earned 38 merit badges, camped with the Troop for 120 nights, backpacked for 280 miles, canoed for 261 miles, bicycled for 125 miles, completed 290 service hours at Troop-sponsored activities and achieved Order of the Arrow and earned Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII religious awards.
He is a senior honor student at Peters High School, member of the cross country team, member of St. Benedict's Youth Group leadership committee, member of Falcon Archers Junior Olympic Archery Development program and operates a small landscaping business.
He plans to attend college next fall to study physical therapy.
