Asbury Heights, a living facility for seniors in Mt. Lebanon operated by United Methodist Services for the Aging, will sponsor a "Golden Mile" race Friday for residents and members of the community.

The timed race around the Asbury Heights campus is open to runners and walkers of all ages. There is no charge for participating.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers overall, and the first-place finisher for both men and women in nine different age groups. There'll be a party afterward for participants.

This will be the first time for the Golden Mile race, which grew out of a company wellness initiative after residents expressed a desire to participate.
