Police seek suspect in McKeesport slaying

Allegheny County detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in a McKeesport homicide.
Police said Dashawn Reid, 19, is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Jesse Thornton, 23, of McKeesport.
Police found Thornton with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso inside Building 733 of the Hi View Garden Apartments on Dec. 6. He died in a hospital several days later.
Homicide Lt. Andrew Schurman said Mr. Reid, a black man with a "medium complexion," is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. He has ties to Duquesne, Carrick, the West End and McKees Rocks.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police at 412-473-1300. Anyone who spots him is asked to call 911.
