State police are looking for an employee of a Fayette County Sheetz store believed to have been involved in a plot to rob the store last month.

A magistrate last week issued an arrest warrant for Shawn Richard Knight, 18, who was working at the Sheetz in South Union on May 28, when police said another man, Matthew Etling, pistol-whipped the female manager and stole $2,300.

When police arrested Mr. Etling last week, he admitted to the robbery and told them Mr. Knight came up with the idea, according to an affidavit.

Although Mr. Knight said he had no knowledge of the robbery, store video showed that he and Mr. Etling passed each other at the entrance to the store.

Mr. Etling is being held in jail and police are searching for Mr. Knight, who lives on Rose Boulevard in Uniontown. He's white, about 5-feet-7 and 150 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes and is known to drive a grey Honda Civic.

The manager of the store had to be flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., and needed staples in her head to close the wound from the pistol-whipping.
