Fatal shooting victim is identified

The Allegheny County medical examiner has identified the victim of a fatal shooting this morning in Munhall.

The deceased is John Sumpter, 32, of Wilkinsburg.

An emergency dispatch supervisor said the shooting was reported at 3:30 a.m. in the 900 block of E. 8th Avenue.

A spokesman for the Allegheny County medical examiner said the results of an autopsy are not yet available.
