Duquesne police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a McDonald's early this morning.

Police were called to the McDonald's about 3:30 a.m. today after they received a report that an armed person had walked to a back entrance -- possibly the drive-thru window -- showed a gun and fired a shot, an emergency dispatch supervisor said.

Initials reports indicated that a white man might have been trying to rob the fast-food joint but police took a woman into custody, the dispatch supervisor said.

Duquesne police declined to release information this morning.

Dispatchers said no one was injured.
