A North Braddock woman whose 3-year-old twin boys died in a house fire after she left them home alone waived her preliminary hearing today on manslaughter and related charges.
Dalawna Berran-Lett, 32, left the boys, Ky'heir and Dy'heir, alone for about an hour on Jan. 4, according to Allegheny County police. She told detectives that she went to look for her 15-year-old daughter, who she thought stole marijuana from her purse.
The boys turned on a burner on a grease-covered stove. The grease caught fire and flames soon engulfed the house.
Ms. Berran-Lett is charged with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.
