A North Braddock woman has been charged with attempted homicide after police said she shot a man in the abdomen early this morning.

Arlonda Giles, 29, of North Braddock, is currently in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Allegheny County police are assisting North Braddock police, who said they were called to the 500 block of Stokes Avenue about 3:40 a.m. today and found 26-year-old Jason Bolinger with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.

After speaking to at least one witness, Allegheny County police wrote in a criminal complaint that they determined that Ms. Giles and Mr. Bolinger had been arguing on the porch of Mr. Bolinger's home about 3 a.m. Another neighbor and Mr. Bolinger's wife helped break up the fight, but Ms. Giles then returned with a .380-caliber pistol, according to the criminal complaint.

Police wrote that Ms. Giles, who lives on the same street, fired a shot at the sidewalk and then struck Mr. Bolinger once in the abdomen. "She really shot me," Mr. Bolinger said, according to the complaint.

Medics took Mr. Bolinger to UPMC Mercy, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Allegheny County police said this afternoon that they expect him to survive the shooting.
