No one was hurt in a fire this morning that broke out in a locker room of the Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth.

An emergency dispatch supervisor for Allegheny County said the fire started at about 12:38 a.m. It was quickly brought under control, he said.

The club recently marked its centennial anniversary. The 107-acre former McClure farm was purchased by a group of businessmen in March 1911 for use as a club. The golf course was designed by Willie Park Jr. of Scotland, a golfer who won the 1897 British Open.

No one could be reached this morning at the club but it was expected to be open for business.
