Medical examiner says McKeesport woman hanged herself in jail

A woman who died in a McKeesport jail cell late Friday hanged herself, the Allegheny County medical examiner's office said.
Judy Anne Datig, 52, of McKeesport was pronounced dead at 9:51 p.m. in a jail cell at the McKeesport Police Station on Lysle Boulevard, the medical examiner's office said.
In a news release, McKeesport police said Ms. Datig was jailed at the station on a public drunkenness charge. She was found unresponsive in the female cell block at 9:33 p.m. Police and medics unsuccessfully attempted to resuscitate her.
Following an autopsy, the medical examiner concluded she died after hanging herself. County police, who are investigating the case, could not be reached for comment.
