Man dies in one-car crash in Fayette County

A driver was killed late Thursday night when he lost control of his car and crashed in North Union, Fayette County.

Duane E. Halfhill, 43, of Lemont Furnace, was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2000 Chevrolet Lumina crashed about 11:45 p.m. along Coolspring Jumonville Road.

State police said Mr. Halfhill failed to negotiate a sharp curve on the road. His car left the north berm and struck a fence and a parked bread truck.

No other injuries were reported.
