Man charged in death of North Versailles baby

Police arrested and charged a man last night in the killing a 13-month-old baby in White Oak on Wednesday.
Ryan Bennett, 22, of North Versailles, was charged with homicide in the death of Tymere Poth, of White Oak, and with endangering the welfare of children.
Mr. Bennett's girlfriend is the baby's mother, but it was unclear last night if the baby was related to Mr. Bennett.
White Oak police were called Wednesday to a home on Vermont Street for a baby who was unresponsive. Police said when they arrived, they immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child and took him to UPMC McKeesport. The baby was pronounced dead at 11:44 p.m. at the hospital.
Mr. Bennett was awaiting arraignment last night.
