McKeesport police have filed charges against a Braddock man who they say attacked an employee in the behavioral health ward of UPMC McKeesport, where he is a patient.
Jamey D. Green, 21, will be charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment in connection with the attack, which was reported to police shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday. Police discovered him naked outside of the facility in a parking lot, where he told officers he was Jesus Christ, and returned him to the hospital Saturday.
In a criminal complaint, police said the victim told them that she spotted Mr. Green near a secure exit on the fifth floor of the Crawford Building on Saturday night. He told her "Come here, I need to show you something." When she turned and walked away, Mr. Green came up behind her, knocked her to her knees and put his arms around her neck. He punched her several times before pushing her to the floor, shaking her keys from her pocket. Mr. Green grabbed the keys and ran out the door.
Another employee, Kimberly Cheek, said heard the victim screaming and ran over to see Mr. Green assaulting her. Mr. Green took off, setting off a fire alarm before fleeing.
Immediately after the assault, the administrator on duty at the hospital refused to give police the name of the patient accused in the assault, citing federal privacy laws. The victim later divulged the name to police.
It was unclear whether Mr. Green was in police custody this morning.
