Jefferson Hills police seek driver who struck pedestrian

Jefferson Hills police are looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian early this morning and fled the scene.

Chief Gene Roach said someone in a 2009-2012 silver Kia Sorento was driving west on Ridge Road when the car hit Angela McGowan, 28, of Clairton, who was walking in the shoulder about midnight. The driver fled west toward the Route 51 interchange. Police said the car may have damage to the front passenger side.

Ms. McGowan was conscious when officers found her with leg and internal injuries. Medics transported her to Jefferson Regional Medical Center and then to UPMC Presbyterian.
