Firefighter injured fighting Elizabeth Township blaze

A firefighter was injured while trying to douse a house fire in Elizabeth Township today.

The fire in 300 block of Shaffer Avenue began about 3:30 p.m. and fully engulfed the house. It was under control by 4:15 p.m.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital with an undisclosed injury, according to a posting on an official Allegheny County Twitter account.
