Fayette County man arrested for shooting at teen

A Fayette County man was charged with aggravated assault for firing a shotgun Monday night at a teenage girl who was spotting deer with her family.

State police in Uniontown said Jeremy James Pritts, 35, of Normalville, fired pellets from his shotgun at the girl, also of Normalville, along Foxburg Road in Springfield sometime between 10:15 and 10:40 p.m. He also was charged Monday with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

The victim was treated at Highlands Hospital in Connellsville, then was transferred to UPMC Mercy.

Mr. Pritts is awaiting arraignment at the Fayette County Booking Center.
