A tractor-trailer crash this morning caused major delays on the Parkway West in both directions.

Crews on the scene blocked the left lane inbound and outbound between Carnegie and Green Tree. Inbound traffic backed past the Interstate 79 interchange and outbound traffic through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and onto the Parkway East as far back as the Squirrel Hill Tunnels.

State police said the crash was reported at 5:47 a.m. One person was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with injuries described as not serious.

The crash knocked a section of concrete median barrier into the left lane of the outbound side. Crews removed the damaged concrete and brought a new section of barrier to the scene. Work was continuing as of 9 a.m.
