A Clairton man was sentenced today to life and seven to 14 years in prison for his role in the shooting death of a man at a New Year's Eve party.

A jury convicted Keith Wright, 26, of second-degree murder, burglary and conspiracy in connection with the death of Tauvea Hurt, 19, who was fatally shot shortly after midnight on Jan. 1, 2011.

Prosecutors said they believed Wright and his brother, Lindsey Wright, shot Tauvea nine times in relation for an October 2010 shooting of Keith Wright.

Keith Wright had argued that his brother fired the fatal shots while he served only as a lookout. Prosecutors said evidence collected at the scene of the crime showed that two different guns were used.

Lindsey Wright is scheduled to go to trial later this month, according to online court records.
