Brownsville High teens involved in accident released from hospital

Four Brownsville High School students involved in a serious car crash on Thursday night were expected to return home Friday or today, according to an emergency worker who treated the teens at the scene.
The teens, whose names have not been released, are in stable condition, according to Brownsville volunteer firefighter and EMT Richard Black.
"After all is said and done, everybody will make it home," said Mr. Black, who said he had spoken with the teen's families.
When paramedics, firefighters and police arrived on the accident scene in a westbound lane of Route 40 in Fayette County just before 10 p.m. on Thursday, however, they found chaos.
The car had rolled onto its roof and all four teens were out of the vehicle, he said. Two were sitting against a nearby Jersey barrier, one was lying in the roadway and a fourth -- the best friend of Mr. Black's younger brother -- was walking around in a daze, he said. "He was awake and talking and said he was okay," Mr. Black said.
The teens were conscious when they were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals, he said. Their injuries ranged from head injuries to broken ribs and abrasions, he said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
