Braddock library given 'historic' designation

The Carnegie Library of Braddock has been designated among 13 new national historic landmarks by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
The Richardsonian Romanesque building at 419 Library St. was built in 1889 and is the oldest intact library building in the country that was funded by Andrew Carnegie.
There are about 2,500 national historic landmarks sites in the country. The program was established in 1935.
