Two people fishing in the Monongahela River today discovered the body of a man in the water, state police in Uniontown said.

An autopsy and check of dental records are needed to identify the man. Police said the body appeared to have been in the water for a long time because it had decomposed substantially.

The people were fishing just north of Point Marion, on the Fayette County side of the river.
