PennDOT announced today that paving work and lane restrictions on Banksville Road will start two hours earlier tonight.

Traffic on the inbound side will be reduced to a single lane at 6 p.m., starting in the area of Dormont Pool and working north. The early start is needed to avoid restricting inbound traffic during Friday morning's rush hour, spokesman Jim Struzzi said.

Overnight paving typically ends by 6 a.m. daily.

PennDOT cautioned drivers to expect delays in the work area.

Banksville also will be restricted to single-lane traffic in both directions from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday from the Parkway West to Beverly Road.
