The 20th annual Wagman Winterfest will be held Feb. 16 at Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park in Frazer.

The free event, sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, will focus on what can be seen in the winter sky, such as the Great Orion Nebula, the brilliant star Sirius, star clusters, the moon, Mercury and Jupiter with its four largest moons.

The event is held if the weather permits, with viewing starting at 4 p.m.

Members of the association can help telescope owners learn to use their instrument. Free handouts, guides and booklets are available for visitors. For information, call the observatory at 724-224-2510.
