Volunteer firefighter charged with several counts of arson

A Mercer County volunteer firefighter was arrested Thursday and charged with several counts of arson and other crimes related to fires set at four properties along Franklin Road in Jackson.
Christopher Michael Grant, 19, of Jackson Center, was being held at Mercer County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail Thursday. Mr. Grant volunteers with Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Department.
Between May 2 and May 15, Mr. Grant set fire to two garages, a storage shed belonging to a Dairy Queen restaurant and a trash dump, state police said.
