Video: The Kords for Kids program

Kords for Kids was the brainchild of 17-year-old Logan Handelsman, who hopes to use a passion for music that he shares with many of his classmates as therapy for the kids at The Children's Institute. He came up with the idea about a year ago.

"I felt that there are plenty of kids out there that don't get to have that opportunity to experience music the way kids from Shady Side do," he said.
The hour-long, monthly program starts off with Logan and his partner Andrew Lewis playing guitar for the patients at the institute. Then, the 20 or so students from Shady Side Academy break into small groups exploring music and dance.
