Find out about military academies
Information on military service academies will be available for students and their parents from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Starlight Car Cruise at Northway Christian Community Church, 12121 Perry Highway (Route 19).
Students will have the opportunity to talk to representatives from the Naval Academy, West Point, Air Force Academy and Merchant Marine Academy about applications and the Congressional nomination process.

Freeport Roadwork under way
Road improvements on Freeport Road started this week from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays and will continue through late July.
The work will be done from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays on 1.3 miles of Old Route 28 between Indianola Road (Route 910) and Little Deer Creek Road/Pearl Avenue.
The improvements involve milling and resurfacing, base repairs and other upgrades.
The project is included in a $2.1 million contract with Derry Construction of Latrobe for improvements on several roadways in Allegheny County.
