Conditional use request for parking lot

Team Rahal of Pittsburgh is requesting conditional use authorization for a proposed auto dealership parking lot behind Wexford Plaza.

During council's regular business meeting Monday, a representative for the dealership explained to council that the parking area would be used to store cars. It would have a capacity of 346 spaces.

Engineer David Morse of Morse Associates said the dealership will make improvements to the driveway, install security lighting and manager the storm water.

The lot, which is behind Whole Foods, already has been graded. Mr. Morse assured council that the lighting would not be so bright as to disturb neighbors. He added that improvements to the site would provide better storm water management than what exists.

Council's zoning committee will review the request Feb. 13, and a decision is expected at council's Feb. 27 business meeting.

nCouncil approved contracts to Day Chevrolet for three Chevrolet Impala police cars at $21,726 each, and a Tahoe 4 x 4 for $30,093. They also awarded a $27,429 contract for a 4 x 2 Tahoe to Baierl Chevrolet.
