Seneca Valley

Members of the Seneca Valley school board hired two assistant principals and an assistant director during their September school board meetings.

Andrea Peck was hired as assistant principal at Seneca Valley Middle School and Nannette Farmar as assistant principal for both Rowan and Connoquenessing Valley elementary schools. Richard Lapishka also was hired as assistant director of buildings, grounds and activities.

Ms. Peck, of Seven Fields, comes to Seneca Valley from the Pine-Richland School District, where she has been teaching science and reading for the past seven years.

Ms. Farmar, of Gibsonia was formerly a reading/ Title I coordinator and assistant elementary principal for six years in Kiski Area School District.

Richard Lapishka, of Baden, was formerly employed by Kmart Corp. in Moon, where he was an assistant manager and manager in various departments.

South Butler

Parents who need a refresher course in mathematics can go "back to school" at the South Butler Intermediate Elementary School.

The school will host the first of two "Families Celebrating Math" workshops Tuesday for parents/guardians of fourth-graders. The session will begin in the school's multipurpose room at 7 p.m. Adults only; no baby sitting provided.

A follow-up session is planned for November.
