Officials at the Fox Chapel Area School District are reviewing surveillance video in an attempt to determine who spray-painted the fox statue near the high school's gymnasium entrance.

District spokeswoman Bonnie Berzonski said the statue was vandalized about 12:30 a.m. today. The school's resource officer, an O'Hara police officer, intends to file a report, she said.

Photos of the statue show that the person or people responsible spray-painted obscenities and the letters "CC" and "CCHS" in blue and yellow around the statute.

Fox Chapel Area High School has a football game against Central Catholic High School, whose school colors are blue and gold, at 7 p.m. Friday.

Representatives for Central Catholic could not immediately be reached for comment.

O'Hara police declined to comment because they had not yet seen the report.
