State police investigate death of Butler County man

State police have asked for help in an investigation of the death of a Butler County man.

Police said James Sullivan, 39, of Chicora, was involved in a "physical altercation ... that resulted in his death." A news release from the Kittanning barracks noted that "no weapons were utilized" in the incident.

Police asked that anyone with information contact the barracks at 724-543-2011.

The altercation occurred at 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Montieth Street in Kittanning, Armstrong County. The other person involved was not identified by police.
