There will not be a millage increase for residents of the Shaler Area School District.
The school board Wednesday night unanimously passed a balanced $70,992,139 budget to cover the 2012-13 school year.
Business affairs director Charles Bennett told board members and those attending the voting meeting that staff reductions in all areas including teachers, custodians and clerical workers as well as a dip into the district's fund balance helped to reduce and produce a balanced budget that is only 2.7 percent richer than last year's budget.
