Ross commissioners look into development of former Highland Country Club

Ross Township commissioners tabled a conditional use for a planned residential development on the site of the former Highland Country Club because they want more information, including whether the utility companies can handle the homes planned there.
Commissioners held a public hearing on the plan today.
Limerick Land Partners wants to develop the property into 134 single-family homes and 170 townhouses.
Several residents of nearby neighborhoods told commissioners that they oppose the development because of the increased traffic it will bring.
Township officials and engineers gave Limerick representatives a list of questions and additional items needed before the conditional use will be considered.
The Ross planning commission voted 4-3 in December to reject approval, contending that the development does not meet township specificiations.
