Some Duquesne Light customers today were without electric service along the Perry Highway corridor in the North Hills.

Spokesman Joseph H. Vallarian said the cause of the outage was downed wires along Babcock Boulevard. Initially, some 2,800 customers were affected though Mr. Vallarian said the number quickly was reduced to 40. The homes and businesses impacted by the outage are located in Ross and McCandless.
