Two motorcycles collide on Pennsylvania Turnpike

A motorcycle rider from Maryland hit another motorcycle this afternoon on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, sending both bikers to the hospital, state police said.

Troopers said the crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. near mile marker 36 westbound in Richland.

One motorcyclist, Brendan Lee Mummart, of Harrisburg, was struck by one operated by Richard Colt Wells Sr., of Forest Hill, Md. Mr. Mummart was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. His condition was not available.

Mr. Wells was in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian, state police said.
