Police: Man kills grandson in Connoquenessing

A 76-year-old man shot and killed his 19-year-old grandson Friday during an argument in a Connoquenessing house, Pennsylvania State Police said this morning.

Larry Karnes was charged with criminal homicide in the death of Austin Riddell. Mr. Karnes was arraigned before District Judge Kevin O'Donnell and remained in the Butler County Prison without bond this morning.

State police said both men shared a house at 113 Sunset Drive. During an argument, Mr. Karnes shot Mr. Riddell in the chest with a .22-caliber rifle at about 4:40 p.m., state police said.

Mr. Riddell's body was found in the living room.
