CLASSES

Franklin Park -- Heritage Presbyterian Church, 2262 Rochester Road, will hold a beginner's baby-sitting class from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. March 9 for boys and girls ages 12 to 15. Cost is $10 per child plus a donation of baby food for the food pantry and includes lunch, snacks, materials and baby-sitting instruction. CONCERT

Franklin Park -- Pittsburgh Concert Chorale presents music of the Three B's: Bach's Cantata No. 4, Beethoven's "Choral Fantasy" and Brahms's "Schicksalslied" at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Ingomar United Methodist Church, 1501 W. Ross -- The Lycoming College Choir will perform at North Hills Community Baptist Church, 7801 Thompson Run Road, at 7 p.m. Saturday. The choir's repertoire consists of both religious and secular music, ranging from contemporary to traditional. Information: 412-366-2662.

FESTIVAL

Emsworth -- Sacred Heart Church, 154 Orchard Ave., will hold its Irish Fest from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Dinner of Irish stew, soda bread, salad and more will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Concession stands open from 7 to 10 p.m. Carnival of Souls will perform; live and ticket auctions will be held. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children, free for age 5 and younger. A movie room will be available for younger children.

FISH FRY

Sewickley -- St. James Catholic Parish, 200 Walnut St., will hold a fish fry from 4:30 to 7 p.m. every Friday during the Lenten season in St. James School's cafeteria. FREE TAX PREPARATION

Areawide -- North Hills Community Outreach, North Boroughs office, is offering Free Tax Return Preparation for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. To qualify, 2012 income must be up to $40,000 if filing jointly or up to $20,000 if filing as an individual. Appointments are available Monday and Tuesday afternoons through April 15. EATING OUT

Cranberry -- Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Rochester Road, will host an Ethnic Food Fair 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Countries represented will be Thailand, Puerto Rico, Poland, Liechtenstein, Italy, Haiti, Guatemala, Greece and England. This year a new country "Kidonia" will offer kiddie cuisine, goodies and activities. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 children younger than 12 and $30 per family. Proceeds will benefit the church's Mission Committee.

FUNDRAISERS

Cranberry -- Butler Health System's Foundation will hold its annual black tie fundraiser, the Crystal Ball, at 5:30 p.m. March 16 at the Pittsburgh Marriott North, 100 Cranberry Woods Drive. The event will be black tie optional and will feature Kentucky Derby-themed festivities, so wear your best hat to celebrate the theme. The evening will include a cocktail hour, a silent auction, live auction, basket auction, sit-down dinner, Triple Crown Horse Racing and dancing. Proceeds will be used to support cardiac services at Butler Health System. Pittsburgh -- St. Alexis School in McCandless will hold its Annual Gala, Auction and Dinner on Saturday at the Omni William Penn Hotel with the theme A Night to Believe -- Realize the Spirit Within. Tickets are $75 per person with all proceeds directly benefiting St. Alexis School. The reception and silent auction begins at 5 p.m., with dinner beginning at 7 p.m.

Shaler -- A spaghetti dinner for the Bagwell family, who recently lost their home in a fire, will be held from 4 to 7 pm Saturday at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church on Mount Royal Boulevard. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. An auction and a bake sale are also a part of the event.

LIBRARIES

Richland -- Northern Tier Library, 4015 Dickey Road, will hold its 40th Annual Library Chess Competition at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Competition will be held on two levels: the Junior Division for children through fourth grade, and the Senior Division for students in grades 5 to 8. The top winners in each age group will receive trophies and will be invited to compete in the countywide chess tournament. Registration is required; call 724-449-2665.

RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

Millvale -- The public is invited to attend a World Day of Prayer ecumenical service at 1 p.m. Friday at the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities, Mount Alvernia, 146 Hawthorne Road. The prayer service is sponsored by the Millvale Ministerium, a group of churches and social service agencies. SALE
