Highland Park -- Open Your Heart to a Senior, a program of United Way of Allegheny County, will recognize volunteers at its second annual "Hearty Party: a volunteer appreciation party with heart," from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 13, in the Union Project, 801 N. Negley Ave. Guests may also attend to learn about volunteering with one of the six area agencies dedicated to serving the aging population. The event is free for OYHS volunteers; $10 per guest. Cranberry -- The Cranberry Turkey Chase 5K will be held Thanksgiving Morning at Graham Park, 200 Graham Park Drive. Registration is at 7:30 a.m.; the race starts at 9 a.m. Registration fee is $20 per person in advance and $25 on race day. Harmony -- Harmony Museum will hold its WeihnachtsMarkt Christmas market in the German tradition Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 10 and 11 at the center of Harmony's National Historic Landmark District Market. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, $3 for students, free for children younger than 6. Market proceeds benefit Historic Harmony and its museum.
Sewickley -- The Heritage Valley Sewickley Foundation will preset its annual Unique Boutique from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, at the Edgeworth Club, 511 East Drive. Admission for shopping is $10 each or $35 each for admission and lunch. The buffet lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and reservations are required. Hampton -- Greater Harmony Chorus is seeking singers to perform at senior living facilities throughout the holiday season. No singing experience is necessary. Women of all ages welcome. Hampton -- North Hills Community Outreach, 1975 Ferguson Road, is collecting food items to create complete Thanksgiving meals to distribute to local families in need. Items that make a meal include: grocery store gift cards of at least $10, large boxes of stuffing mix and instant mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, easy pumpkin pie mix, evaporated milk, muffin mix, turkey gravy mix and napkins.
