HOLIDAY HAPPENINGS

Richland -- Northern Tier Library, 4015 Dickey Road, will host a program by the Steel City Ghost Hunters at 7 p.m. Monday. The group will discuss its findings from Hill View Manor in New Castle, a home for the aged and chronically and mentally ill that closed in 2004 and is believe to be populated by the spirits of its former residents. Zelienople -- Ghosts of Southwestern Pennsylvania will be discussed by Pittsburgh author Thomas White at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Zelienople Area Public Library, 227 S. High St. Registration is appreciated, but not required for the free program. Informatin: 724-452-9330 or zelienople@bcfls.org.

Pine -- A Halloween in the Park event will feature games, ghost stories, a bonfire, a costume parade, corn maze, crafts and face painting from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Pine Park Gazebo, 100 Pine Park Drive. The cost is $3. Information: 724-625-1636.

McCandless -- The Longvue Acres Garden Club will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at Northmont United Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway. Ken Tomajko of Aborel Tree Service will discuss "TREE-age: Combating the Emerald Ash Borer."

SEMINARS

Fox Chapel -- UPMC St. Margaret will hold a free presentation, Acupuncture: An Alternative Medicine for Pain and Rehabilitation, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cooper-Siegel Community Library, 403 Fox Chapel Road. Tamia Patterson, a doctor at UPMC Rehabilitation Institute at UPMC St. Margaret, will discuss the history and current use of acupuncture and its positive effects on pain relief and rehabilitation. SPECIAL INTEREST

Ross -- The Greater Harmony Chorus of Sweet Adelines International will present Harmonize the World, a family-friendly show with a global theme, at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at North Hills Junior High School, 55 Rochester Road.
