It's back to the negotiating table for the school board and two of its unions.
School directors last Thursday approved a fact-finder's recommendations for contracts for its teachers and support staff for the second time. However, the two unions had earlier rejected the recommendations for the second time.
"Clearly, by our repeated actions, the board found the independent analyses to be acceptable compromises. However, without consensus, there is no contract," board president J. Dayle Ferguson said.
"So, we shall persevere with purpose and continued good faith. We look forward to resuming negotiations with both unions over the summer months. We'll keep at it, folks."
A second vote was required by state law.
Approving the recommendations passed 7-0 with Gordon Marburger and Ross McConnell absent.
